Just as with any other business, there is competition in the transcription business as well. The question of should you list transcription rates on your site is a matter of personal preference, but the more important factor is often overlooked; giving the potential client everything they need to make a decision and move forward.

When a potential client is looking for transcription services they normally need services at that time or in the near future. While some people do not mind doing hours of research to find the right company at the right price, others what the in your face approach; "Here is what my company is offering and this is what you will get for your money."

There are mixed feelings among transcriptionists - "If I list my prices, this will make it easier for others to have lower prices?" Well, yes, but you list your rates according to what you feel is right for your business; you don't scan the internet to see which business is charging more.
